How to Activate the Transcript During a Zoom Meeting

Overview

Description: This guide explains how to enable live transcription during a Zoom meeting to see real-time captions. 

Estimated time of completion: 1 minute 

Instructions

  1. Once you’re in a Zoom meeting, click on the “Live Transcript” button in the meeting toolbar. 
  2. Select “Enable Auto-Transcription” to activate live captions. 
  3. The transcript will appear at the bottom of your screen, updating in real-time as participants speak. 
  4. You can also click “View Full Transcript” to see the entire chat transcript in a side panel. 

Troubleshooting

  • If the “Live Transcript” button is missing, ask the host to enable it.
  • Check your Zoom client settings to ensure transcription is supported.
