Troubleshooting the “Could Not Verify ID Token: State Not Found” Error in eSyllabus

Overview

Description: This article provides a solution for resolving the “Error: Could not verify ID token: State not found” message in eSyllabus when attempting to edit courses. 

Estimated Time of Completion (ETOC): This task will take 2-3 minutes to complete.  

Instructions

  1. Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  4. Select Third-party cookies.

  5. Ensure that “Allow third-party cookies” is enabled.

Troubleshooting

  • Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Go to Chrome settings, select Privacy and security, and click Clear browsing data. Choose Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then click Clear data. 
  • Disable Browser Extensions: Some extensions can interfere with eSyllabus. Try disabling extensions by going to More tools > Extensions in Chrome and see if the issue persists. 
  • Update Chrome: Ensure your Chrome browser is up to date by clicking on the three dots, selecting Help, and then About Google Chrome. If there’s an update available, install it. 
  • Try Incognito Mode: Open an incognito window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + N and try accessing eSyllabus there. This mode disables extensions and uses default settings. 
  • Use a Different Browser: If the issue persists, try accessing eSyllabus in a different browser, such as Firefox. 
  • Restart Your Device: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software issues.
