How to Participate in a Discussion

Overview

Description: This guide explains how to participate in course discussions on Canvas. 

Estimated time of completion: 4 minutes 

Instructions

  1. Click on Discussions in the Course Navigation menu.

  2. Select the discussion topic you wish to contribute to.

  3. Read the prompt and any existing replies. 
  4. Click “Reply” to add your response.

  5. Type your reply and format it if necessary.

  6. Click “Post Reply” to share your response.

Troubleshooting

  • If your reply isn’t posted, check your internet connection.
  • Ensure you’re not trying to post after the discussion deadline has passed.
  • Try clearing your browser’s cache if the reply button is unresponsive.
