Course Evaluations: Sharing Feedback

Overview

Description: Course evaluations are an essential part of maintaining high-quality instruction at Capitol Technology University. These evaluations enable students to provide their honest feedback on the course content, structure, and instruction. All evaluations are anonymous, and results are reviewed by faculty, department chairs, and deans to help improve future courses.

Estimated Time to Complete: 5–10 minutes

Why Course Evaluations Matter

Your feedback helps ensure that courses at Capitol Technology continue to meet high academic and instructional standards.

By completing your course evaluations, you:

  • Help improve course design and teaching methods for future students.
  • Give faculty valuable insights into what’s working and what could be better.
  • Support ongoing efforts to provide the best possible learning experience for all students.

Capitol Technology takes student feedback seriously. Constructive input—both positive and critical—shapes how courses are refined and delivered in future semesters.

When and How to Submit Your Evaluation

When:

Course evaluations become available near the end of each semester or term. Students receive an announcement email when the evaluation period opens.

How:

  1. Log into Canvas.
  2. Open one of your active courses.
  3. Click the “Course Evaluations” link in the course navigation menu.
  4. Complete all sections of the evaluation honestly and thoughtfully.
  5. Submit your responses before the posted deadline.

After the evaluation period closes, faculty can access aggregated, anonymous results through the EvaluationKIT dashboard.

Anonymity and Confidentiality

All evaluations are collected and stored through EvaluationKIT, a secure platform that ensures your privacy.

  • Once submitted, your responses are completely anonymous.
  • No identifying information (such as name, email, or ID) is attached to your responses.
  • Faculty and administrators only see aggregated results that combine all student feedback in the course.

Your honest feedback is essential—and completely safe to share.

Faculty Best Practices

Faculty members are encouraged to:

  • Remind students about upcoming evaluation periods.
  • Explain how feedback is used to enhance future courses.
  • Review evaluation results to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

This collaboration between students and faculty helps maintain Capitol Tech’s commitment to academic excellence.

Troubleshooting

If you’re unable to access the Course Evaluations link in Canvas:

  • Confirm that the evaluation period is currently open (check your Capitol Tech email for the announcement).
  • Try a different web browser (Chrome is recommended).
  • Clear your browser cache or cookies and reload Canvas.
