Accessing Canvas via the Canvas Student App

Overview

Description: This guide explains how students can access Capitol Technology University’s Canvas learning system using the Canvas Student mobile app. The app allows you to view course content, participate in discussions, submit assignments, and receive notifications from your phone or tablet.

Instructions

Download the Canvas Student App 

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). 
  2. Search for “Canvas Student”. 
  3. Tap Install (Android) or Get (iOS). 

Log In to Your Account 

  1. Open the Canvas Student app.

  2. Tap Find my school.
  3. In the search box, type Capitol Technology University.
    Capitol is typed into the search bar.
  4. Select Capitol Technology University from the list.
  5. Log in using your MyCapitol/Outlook email login credentials.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t find Capitol Technology University in the search? 
    Double-check spelling. If it does not appear, make sure you’re using the Canvas Student app (not Canvas Teacher). 
  • Login not working? 
    Confirm you are entering your MyCapitol/Outlook credentials. If you recently changed your password, update it here. 
  • App keeps crashing or freezing? 
    Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Also, ensure your phone is running the latest iOS/Android update.
