How to Clear the Cache in Firefox?

Overview

Description: This guide will help you clear the cache in Mozilla Firefox to enhance browser performance and fix issues with web pages.

Estimated Time of Completion (ETOC): 3 minutes

Instructions

  1. In the top-right corner of the Firefox window, click the three horizontal lines (menu button).
  2. From the drop-down menu, click on “Settings.”
  3. In the settings menu, click on the “Privacy & Security” tab.
  4. Scroll down to the “Cookies and Site Data” section and click on the “Clear Data” button.
  5. Ensure that the box next to “Cached Web Content” is checked. Uncheck any other options if you don’t want to clear cookies or other site data.
  6. Click the “Clear” button to remove the cache.

Troubleshooting

  • Firefox is still slow after clearing the cache: Try closing and reopening Firefox or consider clearing cookies and site data as well if performance issues persist.
  • Some websites load slower than usual: After clearing the cache, Firefox may take longer to load certain sites as it rebuilds the cached data.
