How to Connect to the Capitol Wireless Network

Overview

Capitol Technology University provides a campus-wide wireless network named Capitol-New as a convenient supplement to the wired network. Wireless access points are located throughout McGowan, M/A Common Hall, MCI Hall, Telecomm Hall, and Innovator’s Hall, allowing compatible devices to connect to the Internet.

When on campus, students, faculty, and staff should always connect to the Capitol-New network. You may see other networks listed, but these are not supported by the Information Technology department and may be unsafe to use.

Instructions

Wi-Fi Access: On your device, select the Capitol-New SSID to connect your device.

Note for Users: You are connecting to an unsecured network. Information sent over this wireless network connection is not encrypted and might be visible to other people. It is possible for someone to obtain information that is being transmitted by your computer.

Troubleshooting

Can’t connect to the Capitol-New SSID?

  • Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device.
  • Forget and re-add the Capitol-New network.
  • Restart your device.
