How to Make a Payment via the MyCapitol portal (Transact)

Overview

Description: This guide walks students through the process of making a tuition or fee payment via the MyCapitol Portal using the Transact payment system. It also includes instructions for accessing invoices and making a guest payment if portal access is unavailable. 

Estimated Time of Completion (ETOC): 10–15 minutes 

Instructions

  1. Navigate to the MyCapitol Portal 
    Open your web browser and go to: https://mycapitol.captechu.edu/ics
  2. Log In to the Portal 
    Use the login fields at the top left of the page to sign in. 
    If you’ve forgotten your password, select I forgot my password to reset it.

  3. Select the ‘Student’ Tab 
    Click the Student tab located in the blue toolbar at the top of the page.

  4. Go to ‘Student Finances’ 
    From the left-hand sidebar, click on Student Finances.

  5. Review PDF Invoices (Optional) 
    For the most accurate reflection of your account balance, access your latest invoice in the Financial Document Center. 
    Click View PDF to open your current invoice.

  6. Access Transact Payments 
    Select Go to Transact Payments.

  7. Initiate Your Payment 
    1. You will be redirected to the Transact Overview Page. 
    2. From the red left pane, click Make a Payment. 
    3. You may also view your activity details here.

  8. Enter Payment Amount 
    Type in the amount you wish to pay.

  9. Proceed to Checkout
    1. Select Checkout from the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
    2. Choose your preferred payment method.
    3. Submit your payment.
    4. A receipt will be provided once the transaction is successful.

Note: 
If you are unable to access the portal, you can still make a payment as a guest using the following link: Guest Payment Portal

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure you are logged into the MyCapitol Portal. 
  • Use a supported browser like Chrome or Firefox. 
  • Clear your browser’s cache if pages are not loading properly.
