Step 1: Understand the Role of AI in Research 

    • What AI Can Do: 
      • Summarize academic papers. 
      • Generate research ideas or refine your topic. 
      • Analyze large datasets. 
      • Assist with grammar and style for academic writing. 
    • What AI Cannot Do: 
      • Replace critical thinking or original analysis. 
      • Verify sources for credibility. 

Tip: Always review AI-generated content critically and cross-check information. 

Step 2: Choose the Right AI Tools 

    • Text Summarization Tools: 
      • Tools like ChatGPT, Elicit, or Scholarcy can condense academic articles into summaries. 
    • Citation Management Tools: 
      • Use tools like Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for organizing references and citations. 
    • Data Analysis Tools: 
      • Tools like Excel, Python (with AI libraries), or specialized software such as NVivo for qualitative data can aid your research. 
    • AI Writing Assistants: 
      • Grammarly or ProWritingAid can refine your academic writing by checking grammar, tone, and clarity. 

Step 3: Use AI Tools Ethically 

    • Avoid Plagiarism: 
      • Do not copy-paste AI-generated text without proper citation. 
      • Treat AI output as a supplement, not a replacement, for your own work. 
    • Cite AI Where Appropriate: 
      • If AI tools contribute to your research, acknowledge their use. For example, “This analysis was conducted using OpenAI’s ChatGPT.” 
    • Be Transparent:
